Biography



Aliya Gordon is a visual artist and dancer based in South Florida. Gordon earned their Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting, Drawing, and Printmaking at the University of North Florida in 2021. In their work, they explore concepts of identity, connection, and rituals. They primarily use printmaking and mixed media techniques, as well as upcycling found objects into sculptural works.

Gordon’s works have been featured in exhibitions throughout Florida. After completing an inspiring study abroad program in Italy in 2018, Gordon exhibited their work at the University of North Florida’s Lufrano Intercultural Gallery. You can see their most recent works, a collection of screenprints, on display at Studio 18 Art Complex in Pembroke Pines for Praxis: Time Passing, the annual resident artist exhibition; open until December 30th, 2023.
